I first met Florence last year for her newborn session, as part of the New baby Deal I offer, and I was excited to capture her first birthday cake smash last month. Her Mum made a fab cake – lots of frosting always works well! I set up a range of backgrounds at her home, firstly for some portraits shots before the messier, cake smash began. I always bring along a range of bunting, but Florence had her own personalised version that looked super in the pictures. I used both a neutral and a bright blue backdrop for the session, and Florence wore a cute tutu for both sets of images.

Cake smash sessions start from just £20 for the local area and all you need to provide is a messy cake with plenty of frosting plus outfits for your little one.
