Clair & Mark decided on a low-key wedding day with their closest family and friends, filled with super bright rainbow colours. The ceremony took place at the Register Office in Halifax, with a few family photos afterwards at the Clay House just down the road in West Vale. Here are the highlights x

As I’m catching up on the wedding blogs, I’ll keep them short and sweet. Here are the highlights from Toni & Paul’s wedding day last September. Bridal prep began at the couples home, before heading down to the Central Methodist Church in Brighouse – it was the first ceremony I’d covered at the Church and the Minister was very accommodating and allowed photography throughout. After the ceremony it began to rain, so we decided to take all of the family group shots up at the Moorlands, so the couple and their guests headed off in a vintage double decker bus. Coverage continued throughout the day and included couple shots on the bus and in the smoking shelter (slighter more glam than it sounds!) the speeches, candid moments of guests up until the first dance.

Maternity sessions take place either on location or at home and I usually advise Mums-to-be to book a date in once they’re 30+ weeks. Ideally I take a range of shots in little ones nursery and around the home using the available light – Hazel’s home has such wonderful light, checkout those fab windows! Family members and children are also welcome to join in for the photos and this often makes the images appear more natural and less posed. After the session I edit the best ones and present them on a private online gallery, where you’re able to order prints, packages and digital images.

Finally catching up on the wedding blogs – I’ve so many to share with you all!

I’ve known Melissa since school, so I was totally thrilled when she asked me to capture her wedding day over in Skipton last May. The bridal prep started at their family home and there was lots to photograph as everyone was getting ready. The coverage continued at St James’ Church in Silsden along with the family group shots too – it was such a sunny day so we decided on the church grounds. On the way to the venue, The Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton, we stopped off for a few couple shots in a field, just as a storm was approaching! Coverage continued at the hotel of the speeches and candid moments until the first dance.

Here are a few highlights from Anastasia and Danny’s wedding day; coverage started as their guests were arriving for the ceremony at City Hall in Bradford, then continued through to the late afternoon, to capture candid moments with family and friends at The Old White Beare in Norwood Green, Halifax. On the way to the venue we stopped for a few couple shots at an old disused factory. Anastasia and Danny were also keen to include their favourite coats (a parka and leather jacket) in a few of the shots, as they had worn these when they first met – I absolutely love a leather jacket and wedding dress combo! I’ve known Carly and Ant for several years now, as I’ve photographed their daughters many times, so I was over the moon to be asked to capture their special day, which was a complete secret to their family and close friends! They decided just to share their day with a few immediate family members, starting with a ceremony at Harrogate Register Office before moving on to a low-key reception at The White Hart Hotel. As Carly and Ant both love Harrogate, they wanted to take some time out for photographs in and around the gardens and nearby streets – the weather was gorgeous too.

Faye and Sams’ winter wedding took place last February at the Craiglands Hotel in Ilkley. It was the first time I had covered a wedding at the venue and I was super impressed! The ceremony room was light and bright and we were allowed access to another large room decorated with fabric swags and chandeliers, for the family group shots, which saved us from braving the cold. As the light faded we managed a few couple shots in the entrance, complete with fairy lights. Here are a few from the day.

The past few months have been crazy busy with amazing weddings as well as family and baby sessions – thank you all for passing on my details!

Here are a selection of images taken during Sarah & Gary’s wedding day, which started off with bridal prep at Gomersal Park Hotel, followed by their ceremony at St Matthew’s Church in Lightcliffe, before heading back to the hotel for the rest of the day. Venue styling and decor provided by the fabulous Natasha Jane Events – love the Disney themed table place names!

I’m currently going through the archives and sharing some lovely weddings from the past year. Faye & Andrews wedding took place in Bingley at All Saints Church and at Andrews parents house, in a wonderful marquee in their garden. The coverage began with bridal prep at Faye’s Mums before heading on to the church to capture the ceremony and informal family group shots. We then made our way to the marquee for more natural, documentary style coverage up until their first dance.

When I first met Dawn & Richard, they didn’t want anything too posed or fussy, just relaxed, quirky photographs full of personality. Mark and I started the day with informal coverage during the last hour or so of bridal prep over at The Great Victoria Hotel in Bradford. There’s always so much going on during this final hour that we never really feel the need to do many posed shots. Shortly after, we headed over to City Hall to meet Richard and the Groomsmen, in time for the ceremony which was full of humour and personality! The informal, documentary coverage continued throughout the day, up until the first dance with music provided by the awesome Psychoslinky’s!
