A few months ago I captured a wonderful newborn session for little Ariya and her parents. During a newborn photo session I take a range of shots around the home, usually set in little ones nursery with a few snuggled up shots too. Sessions are very natural and there’s plenty of time for an outfit change, cuddles and feeds. After the shoot I edit the best images (around 40) in my signature style before presenting the proofs on a personal online gallery, where orders can be placed for single prints or the popular Bronze, Silver and Gold deals – details can be found here.

Maternity sessions take place either on location or at home and I usually advise Mums-to-be to book a date in once they’re 30+ weeks. Ideally I take a range of shots in little ones nursery and around the home using the available light – Hazel’s home has such wonderful light, checkout those fab windows! Family members and children are also welcome to join in for the photos and this often makes the images appear more natural and less posed. After the session I edit the best ones and present them on a private online gallery, where you’re able to order prints, packages and digital images.

I first met Kirsty a few years ago during a family portrait session so I was thrilled to hear she was expecting twins! We decided to do the photo session in two parts, some in the nursery and the rest out on location near to where Kirsty lives. All very natural and lifestyle in approach.

I was chuffed when Kirsty agreed to have some of her maternity photos taken by the river in Copley. It’s such a gorgeous location and the weather was perfect that day. I began the session with a few lifestyle shots at Kirsty’s home, in the nursery before venturing out to the river. As always, I kept posing to a minimum as I wanted the session to be very natural. As Kirsty prefers black and white photographs, I edited the majority of the images that way, with only a few in colour.
